Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh as Old Energy Hierophant

Read the TOSAS entry for Realization before reading this blog entry.Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh was an Indian Guru who broke into the U.S. marketplace in the early eighties and colonized a community in Portland. My family and I watched a Netflix documentary on him and the events that surrounded. In my view, it was a fascinating look at the operation of a classic and accomplished system hierophant, whose most loyal “sannyasins” (the ones sitting in front), had no problem picking up assault weapons, harassing the locals, and engaging in bio-terrorism against the outside local population. If you don’t believe me, go watch the documentary where you will see it with your own eyes.

I have to say, there were many striking things about the gentle documentary on the Baghwan Shree Rajneesh, but what was most striking for me was just how perfectly Osho represented the old energy hierophant archetype. He arranged himself and his followers exactly as pictured in the card, with he sitting on a throne, and the rest at his feet down below.

 

Seeing this makes me pause and wonder? Was he about Realization, as in the new energy archetype, or was he exactly as displayed, and old energy hierophant? You can decide for yourself, of course, but if you want my opinion of the Bagwan Shree Rajneesh,
